Osun FA reads riot act on irate soccer fans

OSUN State Football Association has set up an enquiry committee to look into the melee that greeted the Oshogbo Township Stadium on Saturday.
The Nigeria National League Week 11 contest between Prime Football Club and Remo Stars Football Club recorded an ugly scene immediately after the centre referee Bayo Oguntoyinbo signaled the final whistle of the match that ended 1-1.
Hell was let loose when some unknown spectators forced their way into the pitch and descended on the match officials and Remo Stars players and officials.
Osun FA boss, Chief Taiwo Ogunjobi, in the process of ensuring the safety of the match officials, Remo Stars players and Prime FC players was attacked by the unknown spectators.
A statement by the state FA and made available to newsmen by their spokesman Tunde Shamsudeen, stated that the pugnacious act was taken by unknown spectators and efforts are ongoing to fish out the perpetrators who shall be prosecuted.
The statement eulogized Ogunjobi, and the security operatives for their prompt response that ensured no loss of life.
Ogunjobi and armed Policemen led Remo Stars players and the match officials to their hotels safely.
"We condemn the act of hooliganism and we're not happy with what happened and we've set up a committee to look into the crisis because our state is Omoluabi state (good people state), and we don’t want our state to be painted negatively. Any fan found wanting will be sanctioned heavily and prosecuted.”
